Peaks

About a week ago I had reached the peak or maybe a better word would be downfall of this study abroad. Just like reaching the peak of a mountain, this trip brought me to the peak. Let me explain. I’ve hiked plenty of mountains and the end goal is always to get to the top and then you’re basically done. This trip has been like a mountain I had to climb and I reached the peak because I’m mentally and emotionally done with this trip. I’ve reached my peak, I’ve seen the view and now I feel done and I want to leave. Getting down a mountain takes awhile though and I’ve got a few weeks left in Madrid. So I’m slowly climbing down and eventually I’ll be where I started, back at home. I’ll look back on this trip as a mountain. I chose to hike and I may have complained a lot through the long trek but at least I made some friends who reminded me to enjoy the view once in awhile. For them I am grateful.

Stronger

When all things seem unbearable, just push your way through the madness and you’ll come out stronger.

Beauty

There are so many things I could say about how everyone is beautiful in their own way and how personality is part of beauty as well(ugly personality=ugly person). Try not to judge people too much on their appearance because you might miss out on their real beauty. My friends are my friends because they are kind, genuine people not because they have a nice appearance. All my friends are beautiful, inside and out. You are beautiful too, darling!

Toledo

So last weekend I went to this little town called Toledo. This spot right here is a great example of why I love nature and being outside. Nature is never boring. There are always new things to see outside. I wish the people that sit in front of a tv or computer screen all day would realize the natural beauty of the land we live on. There’s so many places to explore and adventures to go on that I find myself daydreaming about it. If I could go on at least on hike here I would be forever grateful. Blue skies, fresh air, green everywhere, with sand and rocks to climb on. That, my friends, is living the dream.

Cliffs

We all have a cliff in our lives. It’s a fear that holds us back. You can either conquer the fear and jump or you can look down, making the fear grow stronger. In the end it’s better to conquer the fear than let it control your life. Just jump into life.

Foggy day

This particular hike begins at a lake. On a sunny day the lake looks breathtaking but now it just looks gloomy. In photography the lighting is key. It’s amazing how the weather can determine so many things, for example, how you dress, what you do, and how your pictures turn out. Isn’t Mother Nature amazing?

Lakes

Sitting and taking pictures at a lake is so relaxing. Beautiful sunshine, blue skies, and a lake, what could be better?

Hiking

Hiking has definitely become my favorite hobby. It’s a fun way to exercise without feeling like you’re exercising. The view from the top of a mountain is so rewarding. It gives you a sense that you just conquered the whole world. Nature is so beautiful that sometimes I feel addicted to it. I guess that makes sense since I’m a nature photographer.
